The McGee Park, San Juan Countys Fairgrounds, is located in the heart of the four corners just minutes away from Farmington, Bloomfield and Aztec. Within the complex, there are 576 on-site RV spaces with electric and water and over 200 dry spaces available.

Spectators are invited to come out and sample Championship quality BBQ and talk BBQ with some of the best Pitmasters from all over the country. Show off your judging skills in our Peoples Choice, Amateur class and Green Chile categories.
Local Pitmasters are invited to enter in our Amateur class and rub shoulders with the best of the best! Show off your southwestern heritage and enter in our Green Chile competition to top off this three category fully sanctioned Event!

The AVBS will follow all sanctioning rules and guidelines for cooking and judging. A complete set of rules is available on our #rules and forms page.

All teams will be provided with a 15x20 spot with water and electric(20 AMP) for grills, canopies, tents, etc. RVs are welcome but will require a seperate spot with an additional fee ($30/night payable to Mcgee Park staff or AVBS staff). It is strongly recommended that traveling teams plan to set up on Friday afternoon the day before the event.
If a team chooses to participate in the Peoples Choice portion of the event, then 2 pork butts will be provided by the event sponsors at no charge to the team. Any teams paricipating in the Peoples Choice, event staff will need to be notified at least a month in advance.
Any teams/cooks in the event (Peoples Choice, Amateur class, Green Chile class and/or Vending) serving food to the public must follow all rules and guidlines set by the New Mexico Environment Food Program. A link to the NMEFPs website is available on the #Rules and Forms page of this site.

Vendors of all types are welcome. Vendors will be provided with a 15x20 spot with water and electric(20 AMP). If a smaller or larger spot is required, please contact with AVBS staff for arrangements. If water nor electric are required, those arrangements can be made also.
